Coffee helps female memory
Caffeine may help women that get older to stave off memory problems. That is according to latest research. Studies in France looked at women aged 65 and above that drank more than the equivalent of three cups of coffee per day. Memory was improved. The more coffee drank the more the benefit. Could it also protect against dementia? Coffee has long been known to be a stimulant but it could be even more potent than previously thought.Researchers agree that more information is needed. However, results appear to support the idea that coffee can help halty the decline in memory associated with age. Why doesn't apply to men? Nobody knows. But studies are continuing. Perhaps women anre more sensitive to caffeine.
"However, research over a much longer period is still needed to establish fully what the affects of caffeine are in both men and women and whether it could reduce a person's risk of dementia or slow down its progress."
Things are never as simple as they seem and there are many possible confounding factors involved in the interpretation of the results.
