Not a Coffee Language Lesson Please
If you have ever been at Starbucks coffee before, you've seen their ridiculous names they have for their cups of coffee. Words that don't exist like Grande Supremo pop up all over the place without actually telling you how big they are. I personally think this is ridiculous. Why should everyone be forced to use a language they don't know (I'm questioning the words they use anyway and doubt that Italians use them like that) or don't want to know to order something in the United States. I still like everyone else's system in the United States better for their coffee cup sizes. Small, medium, and large has been the best system for hundreds of years, so why should it have to change now. It's not as if Starbucks is an Italian word, so why does everything else have to be? We realize we're not in Italy, and it's okay, we accept this fact.
It's not as if other places are doing this to try and be more multi-cultural. You won't see anyone walking up to the D.A. and having the receptionist say "You'll need to fill out three papers to renew your license, grab a papier bleu, papier jaune, and a papier vert and fill out the form to the best of your knowledge". We don't care about other languages, we just want our coffee! It's early in the morning when we need it and we can't think straight until we've had our coffee, so don't give us a language lesson, give us our cup of Joe.
