Kitchen, Dining, Restaurant :: Coffee cups and mugs :: coffee mugs

When you think of a coffee mug the first thing that comes to your mind is a little cup with a handle. Not all coffee mugs are like that. You can purchase a variety of different sized mugs. You can buy small ones or oversized ones. Also not all coffee mugs are just for coffee. A lot of people use them for soup, chilli, ice cream, tea and even milk. Coffee mugs come in differnt colors and shapes too. You can get green ones, blue ones, red ones and even polkadot ones. I have even seen them with faces on them. People like to put their kids pictures on them too.

As for shapes, not all are round like we all think. I have seen them in shapes of coffee pots, soup bowls, square ones and octogonal shapes too. Some people collect coffee cups also, to them each cup tells a different story about a place and time. Some people have coffee cups that their family has passed down for generations and have become family heirlooms. Some people don't want to use those coffee cups but on special occasions, like weddings or anniversaries. Some coffee mugs dated as far back as the Egyptians, way back then coffee mugs did not have handles and were used for other things then just coffee. They were made out of clay. Coffee mugs was then made into china. Now in modern days you can find them made of plastic and paper materials.
